In the industrialized wildernesses of a post-catastrophic planet, the lives of the mineworkers who preserve Way station 56 are tough and monotonous. Hyu, the youngest worker, has seen his optimism for a better life slip away over time. Suddenly it all changes when a beautiful and mysterious young woman arrives in a horsegirl-drawn carriage.
