Issue Description

Spider-Man's adventure involves the first appearance of Cloak & Dagger.

After witnessing the murder of a drug-dealer by two superpowered beings called "Cloak" and "Dagger," Spider-Man's investigations led him to Ellis Island, where the two vigilantes had rounded up a group of criminals who were part of an experiment on drug-addiction involving a bunch of dead kids. Spider-Man managed to stop Cloak and Dagger in time before any more killings were done, but through Cloak's actions, the criminals ended up falling to their deaths from a window.

Before Spider-Man could do anything else, both vigilantes disappeared into the shadows, leaving a very disturbed web-slinger.

Volume Description

The second monthly Spider-Man series and the second most popular volume next to the Amazing Spider-Man that started back in the 1970's. The cover-title started out as "Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man", but the "Peter Parker" part was dropped with issue 134. The comic lasted until 1998 for a total of 263 issues. A second volume named Spectacular Spider-Man started in 2003.
