Issue Description
Spider-Man teams up with the Punisher to tackle Tombstone, the villain who broke Robbie Robertson's back. But Tombstone has an ace up his sleeve: a deadly new nemesis called the Persuader, who is out to control the Punisher's mind.
SummarySpidey meets with Punisher who tells him he's tracking Tombstone and he wants an audio tape made by Robbie Robertson containing incriminating evidence against the mob hitman.
Tombstone witnesses the meeting from afar hatches a two-part plan to deal with the Punisher and retrieve the tape from Peter Parker, who Robertson had given the tape to for disposal.
Ben Urich visits Robertson who is in the hospital with a severe spinal injury given to him by Tombstone previously. Ben reveals to Robbie that has figured out about the tape and asks him to let him know where it is, but Robbie refuses.
A short time later, a few of Tombstone's men attack the Punisher on his boat, but are quickly taken out. He questions one of them and discovers that Tombstone had ordered them to get his attention so he would chase them into an ambush.
Meanwhile, Peter Parker discusses the dilemma of what to do with the tape with his wife Mary Jane, who quickly cuts the conversation short because she fears for the safety of her husband and can't bear to discuss it. Peter decides to let Robbie make that decision and heads for the hospital.
The Punisher arrives at the site of the ambush and manages to take out the entire group of men waiting for him while at the same time, Tombstone pays Mary Jane a visit at home and less than nicely asks for the location of Peter.
The Punisher makes his way to a nearby Limousine in which he expects to find Tombstone. Unfortunately he instead finds the Kingpin's Arranger and one of his newest henchmen, Persuader. Persuader puts a psychic whammy on Punny who appears to be knocked unconscious.
The story closes at the hospital with Peter trying to talk Robbie into revealing what he knows of Tombstone instead of cowering in fear, but is cut short when one of the nurses comes in and tells Peter that Mary Jane is hurt and in the emergency room.
