There is a rumor among the criminals that the myth, the phantom is back with the skull marks on some of their own men who had encountered the ghost who walks in the Bengali jungle.

While continuing to pursue to know more about Krieghund, Kit flees away from the jungle area while he bumps into a friend, his father's old mate, Guran and his sons who are dedicated to protect the ghost who walks like always.

With the world taking him for dead, Kit, The Phantom in true sense, now gears up with guns, ammo and the invisible suit acquired from one of the mercenaries. He tracks war mongers to their den in South Africa.

Dynamite entertainment, under the license of King Features Syndicate, started this new series of the Last Phantom that spins around a completely different story compared to the conventional Phantom stories. Alex Ross and Blackest Night artists Joe Prado and Fabiano Neves have presented new the Ghost who walks in a whole new way, while Scott Beatty has scripted it.

The story first begins with no Phantom. The 21st Phantom was the last of the series. Kit Walker Jr. refused to take up the mantle as the masked crime fighter and is on a comfortable ride of life and family, while handling the day-to-day affairs of the Walkabout Foundation, an organization created by one of the previous Walkers to help support charities in Bengala, and the surrounding nations of Africa. This volume of comic books describes the Kit Walker Jr.'s course and whether he will continue to lead that comfortable life or does the destiny bring him back to be the Guardian of the Eastern Dark.
