After battling in the Evolutionary War, the Hulk takes a nap in his Las Vegas apartment. And the dream he has while he slumbers is no ordinary dream, but rather another adventure!
Continued from The Avengers Annual #17
Following the climax of the Evolutionary War, the Hulk awakens in the desert and desperately races to Vegas so Banner can't be released. He then makes it into an alley before crashing, while at Marlo's apartment her friends talk badly about Mr. Fixit and attempt to have her move on.While back at the hotel Hulk makes it inside through his private elevator,he then begins hallucinating of Rick and Betty, before finally awakening to meet Jarella and rescuing her. However he quickly realizes she is an impostor,as three men appear talking of how they worship the Hulk. They then urge him to return to the sanctuary and hear their pleas before deciding on returning, while the girls spreads the return of Hulk's return among the people. They then offer to remove Banner permanently in exchange for Hulk becoming their God, an offer he considers as they ponder a secret agenda. While elsewhere the Inquisitor begins to brainwash the young girl into believing the Hulk she saw was in fact the Anti-Hulk, however she dies during this process.

Volume Description
Continued from Tales to Astonish Vol.1 which was originally one of several anthology comics published by Marvel in the 1960's featuring one-shot monsters in their own tales. Over the years the series began to focus more upon some of the anti-heroes still famous to this day such as the Sub-Mariner and The Incredible Hulk. That is why, after 101 issues, that series changed its name to The Incredible Hulk with issue #102. Under this new name the series lasted thirty more years until it finally concluded with issue #474. The series was then revamped with a new number one and a new title, simply called Hulk (1998).
Although it started out as Tales to Astonish, this is actually the second volume to be entitled "The Incredible Hulk", the first, The Incredible Hulk (1962), having begun publication six years earlier, although it only lasted six issues.
