Issue Description
The Jade Giant battles the combined might of two deadly enemies! Can Hulk defeat Zzzax and the Rick Jones/Hulk hybrid? Or is it too much for one beast to bear?
Zzzax and General Ross are together in one monster body that want to kill the Hulk, but it is attacking Rick Jones, who was turned into a new Hulk a couple issues ago. A huge fight begins between them in the New Mexico desert while Bruce Banner tries to escape the battle zone. In Gamma Base Betty Ross is mad on Shield agents and Doc Samson because they let Bruce get caught by the new Hulk and they had killed her father (so she thinks).
The fight in the desert goes into a small city, and Zzzax then enters Hulk Jones's body and tries to kill it from inside. When the sun comes, the Hulk Jones gets weaker and Zzzax gets out of his body, leaving Rick Jones behind in the destroyed city. Now Zzzax is in charge of Ross and wants to kill the people. Bruce Banner convinces Ross that he is a monsters now just like Hulk and then he flies away, leaving Bruce feeling sorry for him.

Volume Description
Continued from Tales to Astonish Vol.1 which was originally one of several anthology comics published by Marvel in the 1960's featuring one-shot monsters in their own tales. Over the years the series began to focus more upon some of the anti-heroes still famous to this day such as the Sub-Mariner and The Incredible Hulk. That is why, after 101 issues, that series changed its name to The Incredible Hulk with issue #102. Under this new name the series lasted thirty more years until it finally concluded with issue #474. The series was then revamped with a new number one and a new title, simply called Hulk (1998).
Although it started out as Tales to Astonish, this is actually the second volume to be entitled "The Incredible Hulk", the first, The Incredible Hulk (1962), having begun publication six years earlier, although it only lasted six issues.
