A lover’s quarrel between two immortal beings threatens the entirety of D.C. Meet Linnea, the Elf queen in exile, who dukes it out with her warrior mate, Gorn. Gorn, humiliated by Linnea’s expansive power, strikes her. Why are the Avengers involved? Good question!

Meanwhile, The Avengers' new lineup goes into action for the first time in the nation's capital! A strange couple apparently lost in time for 10,000 years appears in Washington D.C.! When the police accidently shoot her warrior husband, the powerful Elfqueen attacks the city! After a brief battle, Captain America convinces her to stop fighting. But in an attempt to reestablish his prominence on the team, Yellowjacket fires an after-the-fact disruptor blast at the Elfqueen! Beginning next issue Hank Pym is going to regret his foolish action.
