Issue Description
Mack Killburn, reporter for the Washington Weekly News, arrives in the small West Virginia town of Clairton looking for the story of the century. Meanwhile, Rom, in the company of Brandy, Steve, and their family and friends, reiterates his warning that the Dire Wraiths, evil shape-changing aliens, walk among them. Then, like right out of a 1950's sci-fi horror movie, Clairton is attacked by a giant robot. Plus, a back-up story featuring Rom and the Spaceknights of Galador.
Note: This issue contains the Hostess Superhero Ad, The Human Torch in "Blown About."

Volume Description
The first (and only) volume of Rom. Although Rom was a Marvel character, and fully integrated into the Marvel Universe, the Hasbro toy company owned the rights to the character (since it was a comic published after a toy they made). The series ended with issue 75, after which Marvel lost the rights to publish Rom. Rom has a devoted fan-base who tries to convince Marvel to buy the rights back to publish a new Rom series. A sequel to this series, the mini-series Spaceknights, was published in 2000.
