Volume Description
MAD Magazine has been a staple of American pop culture since the first issue in 1952. MAD was initially published by EC Comics (now published by DC Comics) and started out as a comic satirizing other comics but became a magazine when the comics code was created because the limits were looser. MAD Magazine has been seen in movies like the 1966 film Fahrenheit 451 and TV Shows like The Simpsons and even spawned its own programming, such as the live action MAD TV on FOX and the animated MAD! on Cartoon Network. MAD continues to satirize comics, but has branched out into making fun of pretty much everything, from television to books to film to advertising on tv and Spy vs Spy in Mountain Dew Ads.
