The first twelve issues establish its own continuity (different from the Judge Dredd in 2000AD). The series was released to coincide with the 1995 Judge Dredd movie. A companion title Legends of the Law was also produced at this time by DC. This featured self-contained story arcs from a wide variety of British and American creators.
