The first third of this issue reviews chapters three through five of the current saga. John Carter has defeated Stara Kan is speeding on his way to Helium. While in route, the men of Helium have convinced themselves that John Carter is responsible for Dejah Thoris' disappearance and have decided to kill him. When John Carter finally arrives at Helium, chaos breaks out.

Volume Description
John Carter, Warlord of Mars was a 1977-1979 Marvel series loosely based upon the Barsoom series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. This 28 issue series takes place during chapter 27 of Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel A Princess of Mars. The series was well received and won the 1978 "Favourite New Title Eagle Award" (a British comics award based on the voting of fans).
The series also had an John Carter Warlord of Mars Annual series that accompanied the monthly series.
