The History Holocaust Martian inventor Tallus blames John Carter for the changes in some of the customs on Barsoom and devises a plan to kill him. A trap is set and John Carter walks right into it falling into a deep sleep. While is this state of consciousness, John Carter dreams of several battles from earth's history.
Tales of Barsoom! A short account from Edgar Rice Burrough's The God's of Mars retells the early years of Barsoom when life first began.

Volume Description
John Carter, Warlord of Mars was a 1977-1979 Marvel series loosely based upon the Barsoom series of novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs. This 28 issue series takes place during chapter 27 of Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel A Princess of Mars. The series was well received and won the 1978 "Favourite New Title Eagle Award" (a British comics award based on the voting of fans).
The series also had an John Carter Warlord of Mars Annual series that accompanied the monthly series.
