Issue Description

SECRET WARS II Thundersword escapes police custody.

The guy named Thundersword who had gained his power from the Beyonder is in jail, arrested last issue buy Iron Man, Captain America and Dazzler. There he realizes he still got his power, even without his sword and escapes in his flying horse. Iron Man goes after him again and with the help of Tony Stark, Cly and Morley defeat him.

In the meantime Bethany Cabe is kidnapped and Tony goes after her with his old armor. There he almost release her, but the bad guys escape in a chopper.

Iron Man Volume 1

Iron Man Vol. 1 is Iron Man's first ongoing solo series. The series was launched following the success of the Iron Man stories in Tales of Suspense and continues from the one shot Iron Man and Sub-Mariner which picks up the story arc from Tales of Suspense #99. Many of the classic story lines and characters that are part of comic history today originate from this volume. The series started in 1968 and lasted all the way to 1996. Continues in Iron Man Vol.2.

Created by writers Stan Lee and Larry Lieber and artists Don Heck and Jack Kirby, Iron Man's first appearance was in Tales of Suspense #39.
