A string of seemingly motiveless murders shake the quiet city of Montvert. Even a dead body disappears from the morgue and shortly after his fingerprints reappear mysteriously. "The dead man who kills", comments Gustavo Garian, Ginko's friend, intriguing the inspector who immediately goes to the crime scene. There she meets Esmeralda, the sister of one of the victims, which seems to inspire a tender feeling in the rude man. But there is no time for love. In front of the inspector appears his eternal opponent: Diabolik!
