Issue Description
This new series starts in the middle of the action well after the Cylons have already destroyed the colonies. As the Galactica passes near the widespread wreckage of a 60 year old battle between Caprica and Sagittarius, known as the Third Colonial Conflict, Apollo observes a fire on an old medivac ship that is part of the wreckage. Galactica receives a distress call from the medivac ship, claiming to be under attack by Cylons. Commander Adama sends Starbuck and a Marine squad to the ship. Once aboard, they discover the ship is under attack by older generation Cylons and immediately engage them in a firefight.
As the medivac ship’s passengers begin to identify themselves , the Galactica crew discovers that those aboard the ship are Colonial citizens who had previously died. Commander Adama orders Starbuck and her squad to pull out suspecting that those on the medivac ship are, in fact, Cylons themselves. As Starbuck receives the order, she discovers among the ship’s passengers Zak Adama, Commander Adama’s dead son.

Volume Description
There are a few BSG 2003 comic series, including BSG: Pegasus, BSG: Season Zero and also just the series simply entitled Battlestar Galactica (what gets confusing with the last one is that there were two with that title at the time of publishing, one about the origonal series and one about the remake and the titles did not specify. ) This is the one based on the 2003 remake.
In many ways, the BSG 2003 comic is like an AU fanfic. (Much in the same way the remake itself is in comparison to the original). It has the same characters and very basic storyline, but the relationships are tweaked and they events are very different. Boomer's character is the most different and as a rule, characters such as Geta and Tigh barely make an appearance. But it's still a good read.
