Issue Description
While rushing a young boy to the hospital who was attacked by a gang called the Thunderbolts, Daredevil bumps into Black Panther! The two heroes infiltrate the gang and put a stop to their violent acts of crime! A young life hangs in the balance.
A Life On The LineAn unmarked truck drives through the narrow back alleys of Harlem, heading towards a warehouse. The night watchman has already been paid off so he willingly opens the doors for the thieves. In their rush to get the job done, the crooks don’t notice Daredevil approaching. DD leaps into action quickly taking care of both the crooks and the watchman. However there’s someone else in the truck who speeds off at the sight off the fight. Unable to control the vehicle, the driver crashes head first into a brick wall. DD reaches the driver only to see it’s just a 15 year old boy. Black Panther arrives on the scene and tells DD he also got a tip off about the robbery. The heroes rush the youth to a hospital where they’re told his condition is critical.
As a doctor performs his duties, Daredevil and Black Panther head to the roof where Panther tells DD that he has been working as a school teacher to the underprivileged black youth in Harlem and the boy, Lonnie, is one of his students. Lonnie’s big brother Billy had just returned from the war and they were being pressured to join a black supremist gang called the Thunderbolts. The boys refused and Panther came to their aid when the gang attacked them. However it seemed soon after that Lonnie had joined the gang anyway. Daredevil asks why BP told him his secret identity and Panther confessed it’s because he knows Daredevil is really Matt Murdock.
A nurse interrupts the pair and tells them that Lonnie is awake but barely alive. Lonnie keeps mentioning his brother’s name and mumbles that Billy had also joined the Thunderbolts. Hearing this, the heroes depart and DD leads Black Panther to the Thunderbolts hideout where the gang are preparing for an armed attack. The heroes silently turn the lights out and use the darkness to their advantage to attack their heavily armed foes. During the fight Billy reveals he’s been working undercover all along and joins Daredevil and Black Panther to defeat the supremists. DD confirms that he knew the gang’s hideout as Billy has been working with the DA’s office. The trio then rush back to the hospital where Lonnie makes a startling recovery after learning his brother is still one of the good guys.
