Issue Description
New villian the Matador is in town carrying out robberies by distracting security vans with his cape. After Daredevil has a brief confrontation with him, Matt Murdock accompanies Karen Page to a masked ball where he identifies that the Matador is present from his heartbeat. When Murdock realises that the Matador is trying to rob a wall safe he raises the alarm and then changes into his costume. Daredevil has difficulty fighting the Matador, however, due to the competing noises and movement of the party and the Matador escapes.
Whilst the Matador remains at large, Foggy drops a bombshell. He tells Matt that he has bought an engagement ring for Karen and wants to propose to her. Matt is devastated due to his own feelings for Karen and also because Foggy is his dearest friend.
Matt decides to distract himself by doing some research at a Newspaper Archive to try to find out who the Matador is and finds that a world famous bullfighter, Manuel Eloganto, disappeared earlier that year.
Convinced that Eloganto is the Matador, Murdock calls a press conference annoucing that he believes that the Matador is Daredevil. Whilst Foggy is upset about this, Matt knows that Eloganto will visit the law firm's offices to confront Murdock. When, at night, he does so, Daredevil is waiting for him. In the quiet surroundings of his office, Daredevil has the upper hand. Leading him up to the roof of the building, Daredevil thwarts the Matador finally by headbutting him in the belly much like a bull would a toreador.
