Issue Description
The Compleat Cannon reprints the entirety of legendary cartoonist Wally (EC Comics, MAD magazine, etc.) Wood's classic sex-and-violence secret-agent strip from the late 1960s. The Cold War is still the hottest topic throughout the world in 1970. Surely either the ruthless dictators of the U.S.S.R. or the greedy capitalists of the U.S.A. will take over the planet before the century careens to a cataclysmic climax. Britain has James Bond, and there are many others of many nationalities and diverse personalities roaming the world. In America, there is John Cannon, who has not only a license to kill but the nerve to accomplish this and other ugly duties without mercy or remorse. He is the government's most able agent except for one constant challenge — how to maintain his loyalty. This foray into the hard-boiled spy genre is full of nekkid girls, violence, guns, nekkid girls, torture, treachery, and... oh, yeah, nekkid girls! Like Fantagraphics' edition of Wood's Compleat Sally Forth, this oversized collection includes a section of never-before-seen ephemera in the form of sketches, notes and annotated information about the strip.
