From the deep forests and treacherous marshes they came, a small band of Polish mercenaries led by an ex-cavalry officer and a British agent who was half-Polish himself. Their clothes were ragged, their weapons an assortment which would make any quartermaster wince.But they had one thing in common - a burning desire to fling the Nazis out of their Polish homeland. That made them as deadly and dangerous as the name they had chose for themselves - the Fighting Eagles.

Volume Description
British company D.C. Thomson & Co. began publishing Commando: War Stories in 1961 mostly focusing, as the name hints, on war stories from WWII and WWI respectively. This was extended to other wars and conflicts later on and since 1993, beginning with issue #2691, the series was called Commando: For Action and Adventure.
Currently D.C. Thomson publishes four issues a fortnight (eight issues a month).
