Issue Description

Over four years ago the first phase of the Rikti War ended when Hero 1 led Omega Team into the Rikti main portal base and destroyed it. The Rikti withdrew into their hidden lairs and the war became focused on skirmishes. Recently, Positron has detected increased Rikti activity and must uncover their secrets. While Positron feverishly tries to determine what the warlike aliens are planning, the rest of the Freedom Phalanx seek out the one man with any knowledge of what happened during that cataclysmic explosion so many years ago, the Invulnerable Ajax.

Continued from City of Heroes Volume 1, that ended one month before. City of Heroes is written by Mark Waid and illustrated by David Nakayama. This version of the adaptation to the Massive Multiplayer Online Superhero-Themed Role Playing Game follows the hero, Statesman and the superhero group that he leads called the Freedom Phalanx.

Issues #1-3 were written by Mark Waid. Issues #4-6 were written by Troy Hickman. Issues #7-9 were written by Dan Jurgens. Writer David Wohl then took responsibility as writer of the series starting from Issue #10 to Issue #15 until Sean Fish took the position of writer until the series was discontinued at Issue #20.
