After their catastrophic encounter with the monster-god Katha Hem, the B.P.R.D. begin the work of trying to pick up the pieces and rebuild the team. Kate Corrigan travels to rural France in search of an ancient text that might undo the death of Roger, while back at B.P.R.D. Headquarters, Captain Daimio finally reveals the truth about his own death.
After bombing the remains of Katha Hem, the B.P.R.D. finally takes the time to mourn Roger.
Kate Corrigan is going to France in search of a mysterious alchemist book containig informations on how to revive an Homunculus, with the hope to save Roger.
It appears that the seller of the book, a strange french man nammed Thierry, knows much more than he would tell.

Written by Mike Mignola and John Arcudi, illustrated by Guy Davis (and Mignola in an uncredited epilogue).
If put in sequential order with the other B.P.R.D. minis and one-shots, the five issues of this miniseries would be #24-28, following B.P.R.D.: The Black Flame and preceding B.P.R.D.: Garden of Souls.
