As Jaime is trying to rescue a friend, he meets the new Genesis - a group of new 'gods'. Where he mistakes them for trying to hurt his friend, Jaime lets the Blue Beetle loose and attack. But upon explanations from Mentos, Blue Beetle learns that the entire planet he is on at that moment is a death trap waiting to happen. Together he and the gods try to fix the planet that had been ruined so long ago.

After this volume was cancelled, Jaime's adventures continued as a co-feature in the back of Booster Gold in the following issues: 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 28, and 29.
