Paco and Brenda come to NEW YORK CITY to find Jaime – and get caught by the DEO! Superfail continues its smear campaign against BEETLE! BOOSTER GOLD is the only hero to come to BEETLE’S defense – or is it just a trap?!

On a talkshow Thaddeus Miller is continuing to badmouth Blue Beetle. Booster Gold turns up to defend superheroes and asks Blue Beetle publicly to come to him for help. Meanwhile, Paco and Brenda turn up in New York to find Jaime, who decides to contact Booster Gold. They meet on Liberty Island, where Booster immediately attacks Jaime because he has seen the future where the Reach invaded earth. They fight throughout New York and Jaime is unable to convince Booster otherwise. A group of Spanish-speaking New Yorkers step in and help Jaime. Booster then offers him to prove that he is a good guy by coming to Prospect Park and deal with Justice League International.

Paco and Medina are kidnapped by Mr. Bones who wants Paco's Reach hardware. Doctors are trying to cut it off his heart but when they do, the beetle inside attacks everyone, taking apart D.E.O. headquarters and claiming to be the Blood Beetle.

Blue Beetle was canceled in December of 2012 due to a lack of readers and sales. It was replaced by the fourth wave title "Threshold: The Hunted" that was also canceled at issue eight.
