Issue Description
Old West comic book action at it’s best, with six great features, as always, reprinted from actual, vintage comic books of the genre’s heyday, the Golden Age of cowboy comics- the 1950′s. Of course, the BOW “Big Three” are all here- cover feature The Haunted Horseman in “The Man Who Hated”, as drawn by Dick Ayers; Frank Bolle’s Redmask in “The Man Who Rescued Redmask”; and The Durango Kid in “The Big Hunt”, illustrated by Fred Guardineer. Then, it’s more favorites like Rocky Lane in “The Devil’s Hoof”, drawn by Tom Cooke, and Black Diamond in “Comanche War Drums”. Rod Cameron makes his Best of the West debut this issue in a story entitled “The Human Shield”, with art by Clem Weisbecker, plus a Pistol Packin’ Pattie short, and an inside cover photo of Charles Starrett and Tris Coffin. 44 pages, black & white interiors with color covers. Standard comic book size, saddle-stitched.
