Life continues for the ordinary Gothamites: businesswoman Jennifer Lee begins an affair with writer Ray Felton, while the Mayfields wonder how to cope with Joel's diagnosis. Doughnut-seller Rosemary Hayes dreams of marrying Batman, whom she believes is secretly a handsome customer of hers, while businessman Jimmy Ciccerone is tormented by visions of a woman called Angie. Dionisio Viella, meanwhile, narrowly avoids capture when a break-in goes awry, and seems oblivious to the signs of strain in his marriage.
