Overview
New writer Dylan Horrocks continues his run on BATGIRL! Babs thought taking Cassandra on an ocean cruise would be the perfect diversion from crime-fighting. Boy, was she wrong! Not only is the mysterious metahuman known as Black Wind onboard, but so is a dirty businessman and his mammoth bodyguard, Ludo. Plus, a guest appearance by Superboy!
SpoilersSomewhat inevitably, Batgirl encounters Black Wind aboard their cruise ship, and there is soon a confrontation, with Black Wind and his supporters claiming they are to bring justice to Vilom Namali, an unscrupulous Tarakstani oil magante who once destroyed a village in the name of oil. A confusing confrontation ensues when Superboy gets involved, and after Black Wind is captured, Batgirl wants to go home. She and Superboy also express an attraction to one another; on Batgirl's side, this is partly the result of an uncomfortability with an undeniable chemistry between her and Black Wind.

Volume Description
Starring: Cassandra Cain as Batgirl. This series continued in Batgirl (2008).
Cassandra Cain became the first Batgirl to star in a regular series after her successful appearances alongside Batman in 1999's No Man's Land saga. The new series was plotted by Scott Peterson and Kelley Puckett, with the latter handling the script, and featured art by Damion Scott. Batgirl followed Cassandra's attempt to become a full fledged crime fighter as Batman and Oracle (the original Batgirl) watched over her and provided help when needed. The opening issue dealt with Cassandra's troubled past and her brave attempt to overcome her upbringing as a would-be assassin.
