Overview
First issue by award-winning new regular writer Dylan Horrocks (HUNTER: THE AGE OF MAGIC, Hicksville)! Also making their BATGIRL debut are Planet of the Apes artist Adrian Sibar and SUPERMAN inker Andy Owens! A mysterious metahuman called Black Wind has turned Batgirl's world upside down. Not only is he more than a match for Batgirl on the battlefield, but he also seems to have swept her off her proverbial feet. The only solution, as Babs sees it, is a cruise. But when Black Wind and another familiar metahuman show up on the same ship, Cassandra's vacation takes a turn for the worse!
SpoilersBatgirl encounters the Black Wind, leader of a rebel group from Tarakstan, in Gotham. When Oracle persuades Batman that Batgirl really needs a break away from Gotham, the two ladies go on a cruise. Oddly enough, they soon discover that Superboy is aboard the boat, as is Vilom Namali, a Taraksanian businessman assumed to have been Black Wind's target in Gotham.

Volume Description
Starring: Cassandra Cain as Batgirl. This series continued in Batgirl (2008).
Cassandra Cain became the first Batgirl to star in a regular series after her successful appearances alongside Batman in 1999's No Man's Land saga. The new series was plotted by Scott Peterson and Kelley Puckett, with the latter handling the script, and featured art by Damion Scott. Batgirl followed Cassandra's attempt to become a full fledged crime fighter as Batman and Oracle (the original Batgirl) watched over her and provided help when needed. The opening issue dealt with Cassandra's troubled past and her brave attempt to overcome her upbringing as a would-be assassin.
