Batgirl comes to the aid of a sniper who was about to be setup as the fall guy, and finds herself facing some very shady government types - trained killers who now have Batgirl in their sights. What can our heroine do to stop the black operations run by our own government?
*Spoilers*
Cassie stops an assassination attempt on a fall guy who has unknown to him been doing acts of terrorism under the pretense of protecting his country. Cassie evades the gun men and then gets captured along with him. Once the rogue agent does the reveal to the agent cassie saves him and they make their escape. She sets up the agent with a fake id and credentials before saying goodbye to him.
Only problem now is the agent has a tape of cassie without her mask.

Starring: Cassandra Cain as Batgirl. This series continued in Batgirl (2008).
Cassandra Cain became the first Batgirl to star in a regular series after her successful appearances alongside Batman in 1999's No Man's Land saga. The new series was plotted by Scott Peterson and Kelley Puckett, with the latter handling the script, and featured art by Damion Scott. Batgirl followed Cassandra's attempt to become a full fledged crime fighter as Batman and Oracle (the original Batgirl) watched over her and provided help when needed. The opening issue dealt with Cassandra's troubled past and her brave attempt to overcome her upbringing as a would-be assassin.
