Issue Description
Buddy Baker invades Hollywood to battle Brother Blood—and that’s before things get really weird!
The Cult of Brother Blood has taken over the Hollywood Screen Awards and are killing hostages until Animal Man shows up s that they may kill him instead. Animal Man, who is watching this all being broadcast is ready to give himself up to save the hostages but his wife Ellen talks him out of it and they agree to save everyone, together.
In the Red, Shepard and Socks lead Maxine to Mountains of Muscle, where she'll be safe from Brother Blood and the King of the Limbs, but just before they head into a safe cave it begins to rain blood. This act carries over into the real world where is starts raining blood in Hollywood. This gives Animal Man and Ellen, an even more sense of urgency, and once inside Animal Man takes on Brother Blood's cult head on, while Ellen sneaks around back stage.
Animal Man is able to subdue the leader, but before he can detain the others, they all commit suicide, so that there souls go to the Red to be aide to Brother Blood and the King of the Limbs. Then as Buddy finds Ellen, he is teleported to another world full of alien animals who start to attack him.

Volume Description
A New 52 series starring Animal Man. This is the second Animal Man series and the first not under the Vertigo imprint since the first series switched over at Vertigo's founding in 1993, although the character has appeared for several years in the DCU following the cancellation of his previous ongoing.
After Travel Foreman left the book following its first arc, the series saw the return of Steve Pugh who had been the main artist during the character's last volume, specifically during Jamie Delano's run which largely inspired this series.
