An Exercise in Futility is a daily webcomic, which tackles important and mature subject matter such as oppressive monarchies, crumbling society, time travel, the fragility of mankind and owls. But, more than anything, it's about penguins. Some of them are tall, and some less so.

This first collection showcases some of the best strips from the comic's first almost-one-year of existence. Witness the penguins rise from misshapen blobs to blobs with slightly more direction and purpose, and travel through iconic antarctic moments such as the existential snow-sports, the arrival of the bees, a hard look at bullfighting as a sport and the consumption of brass instruments.
