Issue Description

As requested by Lord Dark Opal, marriage between the Prince Topaz and Lady Sapphire take place. Knowing that the prince is more interested in Amethyst, is he going to listen to his heart or his reason? 
Citrina, Amethyst and Lord Garnet have reasons, on their side, so that this marriage does not materialize. Will they reach their end?

 House AdFor twenty years the evil Dark Opal has reigned  and ruled Gemworld. However unbeknownst to him  a sorceress for the Amethyst monarchy hid away the young princess.Now on earth she has turned 13 years old. When she is called forth she is a twenty year old woman. Can she bring forth a new age to Gemworld. Can she figure out her powers in the course of this twelve issue maxi-series ? Can she defeat Dark Opal.     
 
The first Amethyst 12-issue maxi series from writers Gary Cohn and Dan Mishkin with art from Ernie Colon. The series followed on from the preview seen in Legion of Superheroes #298 and would lead on to Amethyst Annual and a team up with Superman in DC Comics Presents #63. Eventually a 16 issue ongoing Amethyst (1985) was published along with Amethyst Special and later a 4 issue Amethyst mini series in 1987.
