Granch is doing everything possible to convince his fellows that he is on their side.
Amy returns to the ground and resumed her daily life. An unexpected vision event at her school will force her to explain everything to her parents what happened to her in recent days.  
In the House of Emerald, Lady Emerald cares about one of her daughter who is in the hands of Dark Opal. Finally, in the House of Topaz, Prince Topaz loves another woman than that imposed on him to marry.

However unbeknownst to him  a sorceress for the Amethyst monarchy hid away the young princess.Now on earth she has turned 13 years old. When she is called forth she is a twenty year old woman. Can she bring forth a new age to Gemworld. Can she figure out her powers in the course of this twelve issue maxi-series ? Can she defeat Dark Opal.     
 
The first Amethyst 12-issue maxi series from writers Gary Cohn and Dan Mishkin with art from Ernie Colon. The series followed on from the preview seen in Legion of Superheroes #298 and would lead on to Amethyst Annual and a team up with Superman in DC Comics Presents #63. Eventually a 16 issue ongoing Amethyst (1985) was published along with Amethyst Special and later a 4 issue Amethyst mini series in 1987.
