Volume Description
An out-of-continuity mini series written by Grant Morrison and drawn by Frank Quitely published under the All Star label.
All Star Superman presents readers with an epic story that sits apart from convention whilst being grounded in established Superman myth and lore. It proved to be a critical and commercial success, drawing praise for Quitely unique art style, Morrison's trademark eclectic writing and Jamie Grant's innovative digital colouring.
The storyline concerns Lex Luthor's extravagant plot to finally rid of Superman, and trials that the Man of Steel must endure as a result. Alongside Superman, the series sees appearances from many of his most well-known allies and adversaries, albeit often in altered forms from conventional Superman continuity.
Winner of Eisner Awards in 2006 for Best New Series as well as in 2007 and 2009 for Best Continuing Series.
