Issue Description

Although there was a Summer Special in 1977, this was the first Sci-Fi Special. It featured new comic strips plus photo features on the latest movies (Kingdom of the Spiders - Empire of the Ants - Warlords of Atlantis) and a two page article on Frank Bellamy and the Dan Dare strip.

Between 1978 and 1996, 2000AD produced 19 Summer Specials (or Sci-Fi Specials). They contained a mix of new comic strips, reprint strips, articles and movie photo features.

The title was revived in 2014 by current 2000AD publisher Rebellion.

The title has switched publishers a number of times.
